The Last Remnant may not get a PS3 release

I know you really, really wanted a copy of The Last Remnant for the PS3. Hey, don’t make that face.

The original plan was for Square Enix’s role-playing game to be released on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Now? Not so much. Two out of three isn’t bad, right?

At a shareholder’s meeting, Square Enix president Yoichi Wada expressed concern about the game’s profitability. Also, the span of time between the release of the original version and this PS3 version may also have weighed in. And, of course, there’s also the part about the game being kind of half-assed.

Kotaku reminds that they did not show The Last Remnant at E3 this year. I didn’t miss it, and I’m sure you didn’t either, but that’s a pretty solid indicator that the game isn’t coming out for PS3. We’ll wait for the official word now. Sad, aren’t you? You’re not?
