I always imagined the innards of my PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers being a bit more…electronic. Motors and wires and sh*t, you know? That’s not how Denmark-based concept artist Mads Peitersen sees it, though.
Peitersen sent us this Xbox 360 and PS3 Controller Anatomy Concept art. You’ll see that the PS3 has ribs and teeth and organs and whatnot. The muscles connected to the analog stick are both gross and cool at the same time. Do I see a kidney on the Xbox 360 controller? Strange but awesome.
We asked Mads about the inspiration behind these pieces of art:
“I painted them with the idea that these gadgets are becoming so advanced and cool today that we almost treat them as if they were alive. That the gamers in a way becomes attached to them. After a you have had your Xbox 360 or PS3 for while you slowly begin to see yourself as connected to these brands or gadgets. They almost become an extension of yourself or your hands.”
