The Gremlins third-person shooter you’ll never play

Someone must have fed the devs at Neko Entertainment after midnight and things went crazy, because a Gremlins game the studio was working on never saw the light of day.

Yes, I’m talking about a game based off the 80s Gremlins flicks. For some strange reason, the title was being worked on in the early 2000s, and was to be a third-person shooter for the PlayStation 2. The weirdo title was going to be squad-based, with players controlling either Mogwai or Gremlins that carried guns. Gremlins with guns, people!

The existence of the game has been known for awhile, but I somehow missed this, and wanted to make sure you were up to speed, too. Siliconera has some screenshots of the game, which don’t look that bad, yet the whole thing stinks of a better-forgotten era of PS2 shovelware.

Now a Gremlins downloadable title, I could go for that. Telltale’s not busy, right?
