People seem to have taken the term “Black Friday” quite literally today — it’s been a rather depressing day, sadly. I hate to contribute salt to an open wound, but it’s a slow day and nobody’s going to see this anyway.
Above is a trailer for 2K Sports’ MLB Superstars, which we told you about in early September. Way back then, we predicted that it would suck, just from the mere premise, and now that we’ve got video of the game, those suspicions have only been confirmed. I can’t even quite tell what exactly is going on in this trailer, but suffice it to say that it (A) involves waggling a Wiimote, and (B) should not be played by humans … ever. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.
MLB Superstars was released on November 10th without much fanfare, and the reasons behind that lack of promotion are now apparent. Hell, the only review on Metacritic is from IGN, and they went way beyond their usual “7-to-9 scale” to trash the game. In any case, the box art is also available in the gallery, but please, don’t buy this game. By doing so, you’re effectively telling 2K Sports and every other third-party publisher that such shovelware is okay, and that they should continue to pump it out for the Wii. The world doesn’t need any more of that craptastic garbage.
