The first big Bloodstained Switch patch has been submitted, a ton of ability nerfs incoming

Many shards and weapons have been nerfed

Bloodstained‘s Switch edition continues to lag behind performance-wise, and the powers that be have been working on fixes in an “all hands” type fashion for the past several weeks. Right now a big Switch patch “has been submitted,” and once it’s approved it’ll be updated. Note that “input delay, stability, and optimization” need to be further worked on, and are still slated for future patches. Among other unlisted fixes, HD Rumble is being patched.

The game at large is also getting a shakeup. As always, pros have been hard at work with Bloodstained‘s tech since launch, and have uncovered all sorts of broken cookie-cutter builds that make short work of most of the enemies in the game. To counteract this IGA and his team are nerfing a ton of stuff, most notably the straight arrow, flame cannon, and welcome company shards, which were relatively early game abilities that were extremely powerful.

The only thing that’s getting buffed really is the drop rate of monster fur from Simians (I remember farming this for ages), and familiar strength is being increased based on level. Various map quality of life alterations are in, and the credits were also tinkered with, likely erasing at least one of these names. Oh, and the Xbox One Overlord achievement is being fixed “in the next two weeks.”
