Rejoice! The rumors of an impending PlayStation 3 firmware update are true. Sony has decided to skip 1.91 and go directly to 1.92 with this latest release, which is now available for download.
While no official lists of improvements have been announced, various Internet Matlocks have noticed a few changes. The ability to add Flash wallpapers, minor web browser improvements, and some backwards compatibility updates have all been reported (but not confirmed). God forbid Sony were to release a firmware and actually tell consumers what it did before they installed it.
We hope to hear from Sony (through their official blog, no doubt) with a full list of changes later today. In the meantime, fire up those PlayStation 3 consoles, and start poking around — finding anything new and fancy?
