The End Times: FarmVille launches in Japan

The first ever localized version of Zynga’s insanely popular social game FarmVille goes to Japan. It has been renamed FarmVillage, and it hits mobile devices this month in beta, on Mixi, Japan’s largest social network. This is a big project for Zynga Japan, which is a joint venture with mobile provider SoftBank. You know, that place with the cute little talking dog.

FarmVillage lets you build your farm even larger, and has even more artwork for farm decoration. Other than that, it’s about the same. It’s like a mutated disease. This will be a phone version, which makes sense as the Japanese people use their phones for everything.

There’s a couple of screenshots of what FarmVillage looks like. Not much different. I wonder how it’ll do there.
