The time has come to for Dota 2 players all around the world to spend their $9.99 in preparation for this year’s International tournament! Buying the Dota 2 Compendium grants the purchaser a slew of things, much more than last year. First of all, buying a Compendium contributes to the oeverall prize pool of the tournament and towards unlocking more Compendium stretch goals. Some of the more interesting stretch goals include an All Random Deathmatch mode, 1v1 matchmaking, base customization, and of course chat emoticons!

Last year, the prize pool reached 2,874,381, which will likely be eclipsed today, considering the prize pool is already above 2,600,000. Holy crap! There are at least double the amount of people playing Dota 2 compared to last year, so it seems as if the $4,000,000 stretch goal is within our grasp this year.

This year, it is possible to level up the Compendium, which will grant bonus rewards like particle effects. items, and battle bonuses. Earning points by completing various objectives will earn points, and every 100 points will grant a new Compendium level. Or you can just dump money into it and level up your Compendium! Considering I recently sold a courier for $90, I might just end up taking that route if I need to…

So! Do you have your Compendium yet?
