The Battle for Brooklyn DLC is now live and available in The Division 2, but there’s a problem: many players have reported getting stuck in an infinite loading screen.
For starters, owners of the older Ultimate Edition will have to purchase the new DLC separately. However, many players (including me) have encountered the same problem. When you try to go to Brooklyn on a chopper, it creates an infinite loading screen.
Here’s a potential solution that you can try to solve the problem until Ubisoft drops a soft patch to resolve it permanently.
How to fix the Battle for Brooklyn DLC infinite loading screen bug in The Division 2
The bug is triggered after you reach the White House and ask the pilot to take you to Brooklyn. If the DLC works as expected, you will travel to Brooklyn, and a cutscene will take place. Thanks to the bug, some players have been encountering a black screen with a loading icon at the bottom.
It seems the only solution currently available (I tested it out myself) is to use the game in the Windowed mode. You can do this by going to the Settings. From there, go to Video settings and choose Windowed. Then, go to the Pilot and start your travel to Brooklyn.

What will follow is the same loading screen, and it will take a really long time. By my count, it took over four minutes for the loading screen to end. I am sure that the loading screen won’t take that long once Ubisoft fixes the problem. While we all wait for a permanent fix, this method will at least allow you to enjoy the content of the new DLC. Sure, you’ll have to wait a fair bit, but the bug will be resolved.
Once you’ve landed in Brooklyn and restarted the game, you won’t encounter the loading screen issue anymore. The new DLC starts with a mission to rescue Dr. Kendall, but I won’t give out spoilers. Hopefully, the fix here will work as a temporary solution and allow you to enjoy all the content.
