The open-world racer market has been quietly busy as of late. Notable examples are: the bi-annual Forza Horizon game, the recent remaster of Burnout Paradise, and whatever Need for Speed is up to. Ubisoft’s The Crew has always been sneaky good, and it hopes to prove that a second time in just a few months.
After being pushed back from March 2018 to “the first half of Ubisoft’s fiscal year,” The Crew 2 finally has a firm release date. It gets the green light on June 29. That’s when the Americana cross-country trek kicks off.
And, honestly, that seems like a good date! This spring is so stupidly full of big games, and the end of the year is traditionally always packed. But that summer sweet spot? That’s the right time to chill out with a quality racer.
