Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning has a lot going for it, and no small part of that is the combat system which lets you combine together a variety of abilities to chain attacks and kill things. The video above does a much better job of explaining it than I do, despite its over-reliance on the word, “fate.”
Truth be told, I look at Reckoning and I see Fable without the hype. I see what’s shaping up to be a deep, capable game with a ton of potential but without all of that fanfare and a ridiculously high level of expectation surrounding it. No outrageous claims, just a game that’s trying to be the best it possibly can be. I can respect that.
