Awesomeness from Ubiktune

We have come to know and love the excellent offerings from the Ubiktune netlabel over the years, and they’ve just unleashed an amazing album that combines chiptunes and live piano titled The Black Box. It features Aivi “Waltz for Luma” Tran and Steven “surasshu” Valema doing what they do best: piano in Tran’s case and chiptunes in Valema’s (and you may recognize their names because they’re both in charge of sound for the recently-funded Cryamore).

The interaction between the piano and chiptune elements are simply mesmerizing, weaving a dreamy tapestry that explores ballads, jazz, and even a few videogame remixes. The album comes courtesy of Ubiktune and Bandcamp and is available for streaming or download at name-your-own-price.

We’ll have a review in Note Worthy next week, but you need to check it out now and let us know what you think!
