[Update: Bandai Namco has officially announced Voldo for Soulcalibur VI at last.]

Clearly all of Soulcalibur‘s original crew are game for one more round on the Stage of History, as a new trailer, which slipped onto an Israeli Xbox channel, reveals that the BDSM-themed fighter Voldo is the next returning roster member for Soulcalibur VI.

Debuting back in 1996’s Soul Edge – even becoming the cover star for the European release of the PS1 classic – Voldo is a bondage-loving oddity who uses mind games, his terrifying and enigmatic demeanor, and the razor sharp edges of his blade gauntlets, Manas & Ayus, to slay his competition.

Equipped with the ability to slink, crawl and flex almost as if without bones, Voldo feints out his opponent with unique movement and the ability to advance and retreat with a simple contortion of his lithe, leather-clad frame. One of the most unique characters in the history of fighting games, Voldo’s return will please many of Soulcalibur‘s veteran fans.

Soulcalibur VI launches on October 19 for PS4, PC and Xbox One.
