The best pinball machine ever? You’ll never see it

The best pinball machine ever was created, but it never made it to market. Those dicks at Williams HQ told their people to create the next big thing in pinball back in the late 1990s, and a team of pinball pros did just that. We’re talking holograms and explosions and sh*t so cool that they called it the “future of pinball.” Sadly, that machine had no future.

You see, the pinball market was going downhill. Williams was making money creating slot machines, and the pinball side of their business was dragging them down. Sadly, the team that created this ultimate pinball machine was fired, and the machine was never made.

If some of this sounds familiar, then perhaps you’ve heard of or have seen the 2007 doc Tilt: The Battle to Save Pinball. I had not heard of this film until I came across the trailer on Topless Robot today. This sounds like a fantastic film, doesn’t it?

If you’re interested, there’s more info on the documentary here.
