If you’re anything like me, the release of the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer has inspired you to jump back into some of the earlier games. Grand Theft Auto IV is one of the best games in the series, so it’s well worth a revisit, and it’s even more fun when you use these cheats.
All GTA 4 weapon, health, and wanted level cheats
Unlike in previous GTA games, where you had to press a combination of buttons to spawn the cheat of your choice, GTA 4 makes use of the phone system. Here, your cheats are entered by calling a number on the phone.
To call a number, bring up your phone with the Up directional button, then press up again to bring up the keypad. Type in one of the numbers below and then press call. You’ll get a notification in the top left of the screen saying that the cheat has been activated and an additional notification if the active cheat stops you from earning achievements. You’ll be able to earn the achievements again once the cheat is deactivated. To deactivate a cheat, either reload your last save or restart the game.
The basic cheats, such as the ones below, can be used anywhere in GTA 4, including in the expansions The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. However, each expansion also has its own set of cheats that can only be used when playing that version. The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony cheats are listed separately below.

As I mentioned above, all of the normal cheats can still be used in The Lost and Damned, but while you’re playing as Johnny, you can also access these exclusive cheats, all of which are vehicles. As expected, due to The Lost and Damned being a biker story, most of the exclusive vehicles are bikes.

While The Lost and Damned has some cool exclusive bikes that fit the theme of the expansion, The Ballad of Gay Tony has some of the best cheats in GTA 4. So much so that it’s worth loading up The Ballad of Gay Tony over the main game if you’re after some hectic fun. The star of the show is the APC Tank since it’s the only way to have that classic GTA tank rampage. Check out all of the Ballad of Gay Tony cheats below.

Are there plane and money cheats in GTA 4?
Two of the most popular cheats in GTA games are infinite money and cheats that spawn planes. Unfortunately, there are no such cheats in GTA 4. Once you’re far enough in the game, it is possible to spawn cars to sell, but that’s as close as you’ll get to a money cheat.
As for planes, they aren’t able to be flown in GTA 4, unlike in GTA 5. The Liberty City map is much smaller than Los Santos, so it doesn’t allow for the same aerial experience. Fortunately, helicopters are better for getting around the city anyway.
