The annoying Kamek brings his trickery to Mario Tennis Aces

Where’d the floor go?

Of all of Mario’s enemies, Kamek has gotta be one of the most irritating. The bespectacled wizard – also known as “Magikoopa” – made his debut in Super Mario World, hindering our plumber pal with projectile spells and the ability to make the very floor disappear from underneath you, then teleporting away before you could bonk his bonce.

Well, the little prick is back, except now he’s bringing his sorcery shenanigans courtside as the latest DLC character for Mario Tennis Aces on Nintendo Switch. As you can see from the new trailer below, Kamek levitates along the baseline, using his teleportation and magic broomstick to quickly return those out-of-reach shots. His special shot seems Kamek size up to a giant form, shattering the opposition’s racquet with a mighty return.

Suitably, the trickster will be available from April 1 to all tournament participants, before being added to the roster full-time in May. Mario Tennis Aces is available now on Nintendo Switch.
