TGS: Sony moves 51.8 million PS3s, 71.4 PSPs

Sony’s pre-TGS press conference opened with sales numbers, just like any good game press conference should do. The PS3 has hit 51.8 million units shipped worldwide as of the end of June.  According to Enterbrain, they have right at half the market in hardware and software.  Sony also announced that Japan too will see the Splash Blue and Scarlet Red 320 PS3 models hit stores later this year. 

Even with the PS Vita right around the corner, the PSP is still rocking, with a total of 71.4 million units shipped as of June. Sony says that from January through June 16 of the top 50 top-selling titles were PSP games. A renewed PSP-3000 system with a red and black color scheme is on its way to Japan, priced at 17,800 yen. As you can see in the above image, it looks pretty nice. Normally I’d want one, but…
