TGS: Hands-on with Onechanbara SPECIAL!

Recommended Videos

The first game that I played at TGS was Onechanbara SPECIAL!. We here at Destructoid have a long history with the Onechanbara series. That’s probably why I was drawn to it. I found this familiar, bikini-clad, zombie murdering fiasco to be quite comforting as I began to navigate the foreign landscape of Japan. Also, there was no line! I wonder why…

The game seems to be taking it’s cues from the Wii build of the game, and includes all four of the playable characters from that title… on its billboard. I’m not sure if all of them will actually be playable in the final game. What I do know is that some of the zombies look exactly like Andore Jr., which is awesome. I think that may have been true of past Onechanbara games as well, but I can’t remember, mostly because Onechanbara games aren’t that memorable.

Still, if this game comes to the US for $15 or less, I’m totally buying it, just for the Andore decapitating lulz.
