Capcom collaborated with CyberConnect2 for their upcoming Xbox 360 and PS3 title Asura’s Wrath, which was revealed tonight at a pre-TGS Capcom event in Roppongi. Hiroshi Matsuyama, president and CEO of CyberConnect 2, and game director Seiji Shimoda both took the stage to reveal a bit more about the game after the debut trailer played. Shimoda explained that they wanted to do something a bit different from the standard action game, so they worked with Capcom to make something so unique that they claim it will have gamers questioning if they’re actually playing a game at points. He joked that there were times that even they were confused during the development process.

Inafune echoed those points, and then shared his enthusiasm for the new partnership. He said that it is rare for him to get goosebumps from games these days, but when he first saw Asura’s Wrath, he actually did. He praised the title, saying that it combines the best of Japanese gaming concepts with some fresh new ideas.

Inafune explained that while the game has already been in development for a couple of years, they still have a bit more to go. He added that we should “expect something even cooler” the next time they show the game.
