The news in May that unsuccessful XBLA titles would be delisted seemed difficult to misinterpret — especially since Mark Whitten, General Manager of Xbox Live, said it word for word. As of this week, it seems that isn’t the case after all, at least if Microsoft Corporate VP Tom Schappert is to be believed.
According to Schappert, the information about delisting was “taken out of context” and there are no immediate plans to remove any of the XBLA library selections at this time. In fact, he mentioned the upcoming Dashboard overhaul as key in eliminating the issue, saying that the improvements to the service would make for easier sorting of titles.
Good news if a few of your favorite XBLA games aren’t necessarily the most popular selections, I suppose. I think I would personally prefer to see poor games removed, but that’s not very considerate of the people who put the time and effort into creating these games, is it?
