Tetris Effect is getting a demo this week on PS4

November 1 through 5

Tetris Effect is intriguing as hell. You have surrealism king Tetsuya Mizuguchi (Rez, Lumines, Child of Eden) mixed with Tetris with optional VR: what could go wrong? It’ll arrive soon enough, but for the time being you’ll be able to check out a timed demo this week.

Developer Resonair has announced that said demo will drop on the PlayStation Store on November 1, and will be available until November 5. It’s called a “true limited-timed demo,” which will be deactivated on November 5 and “will no longer be playable or available for download.” Although that’s cause for suspicion, they note that an online connection will not be required for the final game (phew).

The demo will sport 2D, 4K on PS4 Pro and VR, with three stages of the (27 level) campaign and two “effect modes” (of 10). Resonair details the extra modes: marathon, which tasks you with earning the best score in 150 lines and mystery mode with random (good or bad) effects.

Tetris Effect arrives on November 9 exclusively on PS4.
