Look, a 2D platformer on Kickstarter, Temporus. Who would’ve thought we’d see one of them. It looks pretty great, though, thanks in large part to the art of Peter Queckenstedt.

The main premise of the game is time travel, but there are also lasers, missiles, and jellyfish. As you advance through the game, you’ll begin to peel back the layers of the rich history surrounding this digital universe. You’ll discover ancient artifacts, see flashbacks of forgotten battles, and learn about primitive technology that could help you save the universe from complete destruction.”

The PC, Mac, and Linux title looks to pay homage to both old school platformers and side-scrolling spaceship shooters. I’ll try and hold out for the Vita version they “hope” to publish, while you can complain that there’s no mention of a Wii U/3DS version.

And I love that the main character is Dead Space‘s Issac crossed with chubby Sonic.
