Telltale’s Game of Thrones deal is multi-year, multi-game

Figured as much

Telltale Games is working on a bunch of games right now, from The Walking Dead to Tales from the Borderlands to The Wolf Among Us. Which is awesome and also slightly worrying. And now, as of this past weekend’s VGX announcement, we can also add Game of Thrones to that list — the rumors were true. HBO has given a little bit more to go on.

The partnership is for multiple years and spans multiple titles, according to the company. Telltale’s Game of Thrones will be episodic, so, that makes sense. Release platforms include “home consoles,” PC, Mac, and mobile devices in 2014. Telltale CEO Dan Connors noted in a press release that the game “will put [players] in control of the epic stories of warfare, intrigue, violence and revenge that we know and love.”

This can’t possibly be any worse than some of the other games based on A Song of Ice and Fire. If anything, I’m just worried about the release schedule needed to take on all of these projects.
