Techland’s first-person skeleton-smasher Hellraid has returned after a delay with news that it will now release for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 instead of last-generation consoles. It’s being moved to Dying Light‘s Chrome Engine 6 and isn’t coming until 2015, so the move makes sense.

One aspect of the re-reveal I’m less into is that Techland plans to put Hellraid on Steam Early Access this autumn before the full PC release happens next year. I don’t know how I feel about a studio like this going that route, to be frank. Feels odd.

The game does look like a stupidly good time, though, particularly with co-op. Techland says this new-and-improved Hellraid has been overhauled — it’s not just a visual upgrade — and I’m hoping it will now be able to not only meet but exceed expectations. Skeletons.
