Tatsunoko vs. Capcom not coming to PS3 or 360… yet

Lots of people around the Destructoid offices were very excited to hear about a North American release of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. But what about fighting game fans who don’t own a Wii, preferring to play their games on a PS3 or Xbox 360? Well, you’re probably out of luck.

At least for now. When asked by Videogamer.com whether we could expect the crossover conflict to be released on other current gen consoles, producer Ryota Niitsuma said that it’s not going to happen. But, if the game is successful in western markets, a sequel on these platforms is a possibility:

…the game is optimised for the Wii system, especially the graphics features, so if we were to port it to PS3 or Xbox 360 we would have to make the game from scratch, and in that case we might as well just make a sequel of the series on those consoles rather than porting it.

So, I guess the only option is to tell everyone that you know who owns a Wii that they need to go out and buy one? Done and done.
