Take a cue from Mario Tennis to pick a Smash Bros. main

Newcomers to Smash Bros. might find the Wii U version to be a bit daunting. There are almost fifty characters, most considerably different from one another. Even seasoned Smash players have wildly differing opinions when it comes to picking a main, as evident by the comments in Chris’ post this morning.

For those without any clue where to start, this video might be a good place. It uses Mario Tennis as a frame of reference for how to classify the fighters, describes the strengths and weaknesses of each type, and suggests some characters to suit your playstyle. It might not be the end-all of Smash guides, but it’s a fantastic jumping off point.
