Xbox achievements point to new Taiko no Tatsujin title ‘The Drum Master’

A brand new list of Xbox achievements has surfaced, seemingly leaking a new entry in the beat-heavy Taiko no Tatujin series. As spotted on TrueAchievements, the whopping list of 89 achievable goals snugly correlates with Bandai Namco’s recent trademark for the unannounced Taiko no Tatsujin: The Drum Master, which the publisher filed in November.

As noted by eagle-eyed ResetEra users, the achievement list uses the placeholder title “T Tablet_for XC,” but its full listing clearly references the Taiko no Tatsujin brand and the term “Drum Master” multiple times — with cute little icons featuring long-time mascot characters Don and Katsu Wada. A lot of the achievements listed pertain to gathering items from some form of in-game store, including new songs, instruments, costumes, nameplates, and more.

The last release in the colorful series was 2018 Nintendo Switch title Taiko no Tatsujin Drum ‘n’ Fun, so it will be neat to get pounding on the skins once again (grow up). Bandai Namco had also secured a trademark for a “Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival,” so we’ll have to wait and see what that particular title pertains to. In the meantime, start warming up those elbow muscles, and we’ll be sure to give you a heads up when The Drum Master is officially revealed.
