TaeJa wins the MLG StarCraft II Summer Arena

This weekend, TaeJa (Terran) defeated Alicia (Protoss) in the MLG Summer Arena finals to take first place and $10,000! I do feel really bad for Alicia though, since he’s come in second three times in a row now. While he’s definitely “Mr. Consistency,” I’m pretty sure he’d be way happier with a first place win. In time, Alicia … in time. My favorite, Stephano, tied for fifth, but as always his hair was the true star of the tournament.

Six games were played in the finals, but TaeJa managed to out Alicia by a margin of 4-2. Alicia still gets to take home $6,000 and each of the top 16 players get a trip out to Raleigh, NC for the MLG Summer Championship on August 24-26th. Personally, I just want to see more of the awesome big screen. Seriously, watching the casters analyze plays from each game with a touch screen TV just like the one from SportsCenter made me feel incredibly warm and fuzzy inside. Kudos, MLG!
