Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet announced as a third-person shooter, first in series on Xbox and PC

That looks different

This week Bandai Namco teased a new game using the name Projekt #1514. That game has turned out to be Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, as the Chinese trailer leaked online hours ahead of the official announcement. Developed by Dimps, Fatal Bullet is a third-person shooter in the Unreal Engine and takes place in the Gun Gale Online MMORPG (appears in the anime’s second season). It will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The story reportedly changes based on players choices and there is both co-operative and competitive multiplayer including 4v4 matches.

The first trailer looks very combat heavy and the brooding atmosphere reminds me of Code Vein, though that’s just me having never seen the anime. But this does look like a considerably new direction for the game series. I’m sure the panty-shots and harem-making still exist in some fashion.
