Through August 9
Man I love the Super Smash Bros. community. They’ve heard the phrase “Smash isn’t a fighting game” for years on end (I used to argue on Smash 64‘s behalf in my middle school cafeteria), but they’ve remained one of the most passionate communities, constantly hosting tournaments and finding new tech for games that are over a decade old.
Today, the first Super Smash Con kicks off at the Dulles Expo Center in Virginia. It’ll feature live music, vendors, panels, contests, and tournaments. The Brawl tournament is tonight, followed by 64 and Wii U tomorrow, and of course, Melee will cap the entire event off on Sunday night. Many pro players (like Leffen) will be competing, and VGBootCamp will be providing streams. Here’s the full schedule of events.
I’ll be in attendance, so expect some pictures from the showfloor later today.
