Super Meat Boy XBLA to get free levels after launch

As a result of Microsoft requiring Team Meat to have an exclusive feature for the Xbox LIVE Arcade version of Super Meat Boy (as per usual with multiplatform games), a new chapter dubbed “Teh Internets” was born.

Essentially, it’ll allow new levels to be added, for free, after the October 20 launch. Better yet, they’re using Title Managed Storage to creatively sidestep the often lengthy certification process; this is the same setup used to change values for balancing in Monday Night Combat. Here’s the tentative schedule:

• The Butcher Boy, 8bit themed Meat Boy chapter (uploaded 10.20.2010)
• The Sewers of Dross, an entire chapter specifically for Gish (Q4 2010)
• Meat Boy, 8bit themed Meat Boy chapter based around the flash prototype (Q4 2010)
• Debug World, uses the editor in different ways to make insane levels (Q1 2011)
• ??? (Q1 2011)

Each of those five chapters will have 20 levels. In short: f*ck yes.
