Super Mario Odyssey’s Pauline is on her way to Mario Tennis Aces

Jazz-loving mayor causing a racquet

The original Super Mario Bros. heroine, Pauline, is set to make her debut on the courts. A new trailer sees the classy lassy capitalise on her recent comeback by joining the roster of Nintendo Switch title Mario Tennis Aces.

Having made her debut as the damsel-in-distress in 1981’s Donkey Kong, things then went a little quite for Pauline, who found herself pushed aside by the bourgeois monarchy of princesses Peach and Daisy. Having not been born into power, and forced to work her own way up from the boroughs of Super Mario Odyssey’s New Donk City, Nintendo’s very own AOC made her name known in politics, eventually becoming mayor of said capital and princess of The People. Oh, and she also had a hit single.

Now on the courts, Pauline not only brings her glam fashions (look at those awesome sneakers!) but also a fast trick shot, which allows her to cross the play area at high speed. Pauline’s Special sees her take to the high rises of New Donk City, before slamming the ball down on her opposition. What a gal.

Pauline will be made available to tournament winners in March, before joining the roster proper on April 1. Mario Tennis Aces is available now on Nintendo Switch.
