Super Mario Bros. 35 is giving people 350 Platinum Points for murdering Goombas

Just execute one and you’re good for the cash reward

Super Mario Bros. 35 is still going, and Nintendo is trying to jostle people back into the free-to-play (with Switch Online, for that one person who will point out that it’s not “free” in the comments!) affair with events. As it spirals ahead toward its impending March 31 expiration date (still can’t believe this), you can dive in and murder some Goombas for fun and profit.

All you need to do to get credit is kill just one Goomba in-game, but collectively, everyone needs to eradicate 350 million of them. The event is actually running right now through Monday, March 1 at 10:59PM PT. You can find the full details below just to be sure you’re good to go!

This is actually the second event that has granted bonus platinum to My Nintendo members. Just recently, Nintendo held a very similar activity that also gave people 350 points, it just involved killing Bowser instead.

Super Mario Bros. 35 2nd World Count Challenge [Nintendo]

For the 2nd World Count Challenge, players will need to defeat 350 million Goombas in the Super Mario Bros. 35 Special Battle and 35-Player Battles held between February 22, Monday 11:00 p.m. PT and March 1, Monday 10:59 p.m. PT. If the goal is achieved, all participating accounts that defeated one Goomba at least once during the event period will receive 350 Platinum Points** that can be used in the My Nintendo rewards program.
