[Destructoid’s Director of Communications Hamza Aziz asked Jonathan Holmes to make a show called ‘Sup, Holmes?’ so that Destructoid could later sell a t-shirt that says ‘Sup, Holmes?’ on it. This is that show. Subscribe to the podcast feed and find more episodes here.]

Zach Gage is an essayist, visual artist, technology artist, and game designer. On top of all that, he is rad. His essay/tech art on how the internet works as an external hard drive to our brains was brilliant, as was his “trollish” audio experiment studying the way museum goers respond to the sound of the iPhone. He’s got a huge body of work beyond that, which you can check out here.

On the games front, Zach’s two bigger commercial releases are Spell Tower, an iOS “word game” that utilizes traditional puzzle game elements, and Bit Pilot, a game that aspires to make the touch screen the optimal method for engaging in a high speed escape from death in outer space. And he’s also designed a board game called Guts of Glory. Holy crap!

Zach has a lot of interesting ideas about how the way we physically interact with games alters our experience, about how we interact with technology in general, and how to be a great cuddler. I’m excited to pick his brain about all these exciting topics, and many others. Check us out live and join us in the chat at 1pm PST/4pm EST!
