Get to know the people that make great videogames
Adam Heart is a champion level fighting game player, having competed at EVO and other competitions for many years. Now he’s taken to game development, working with Iron galaxy to create Divekick. What started as a parody of Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition has blossomed into full-on, fast-paced, funny, easy to pick up, hard to put down fighting phenomena. The game was a surprise hit at PAX East and GDC, drawing large crowds and critical acclaim alike.
We’ll be talking to Adam about how he got started in fighting game competition, the ten year rise/fall cycle fighting games appear to be caught up in, the budding popularity of simple fighters like Samurai Gunn and Nidhogg, the state of the FGC and fighting games today, where Divekick fits into that, and anything else he wants to talk about.
