Subnautica: Below Zero has a new Mining Site to explore

You’ll want to make use of the Flashlight Helmet

My urge to dive into Subnautica: Below Zero is steadily rising, despite the lack of a finished story.

The Early Access oceanic survival game just got another update, Arctic Living, which adds a few new handy tools like the Flashlight Helmet, the Mineral Detector, and the Booster Tank, an upgrade that lets you jet forward underwater. In other words, a bunch of stuff to make exploration even more enjoyable.

There’s also the Alterra Mining Site to check out near the Thermal Spires. If you poke around the gloomy area, you’ll find blueprints for the ridiculously useful Prawn suit. And while you’re there, you’ll want to stock up on resources for Arctic Living’s aforementioned tools and some new buildable objects.

Subnautica: Below Zero now offers scenic Glass Domes, a functional Jukebox (made with Glass, a Wiring Kit, and Titanium), the Large Room module (Plasteel Ingot x2), and the Control Room (Quartz, Titanium x2). Aside from showing a holographic display of your base, the Control Room gives out information about your building’s power consumption, structural integrity, and the current time of day.

Subnautica: Below Zero exosuit

The end of the trailer teases another, more deadly exosuit. I need it… for science!

Subnautica: Below Zero is available on PC through Steam, Discord, and the Epic Games Store. This standalone adventure is still in active development, but if you buy it in Early Access, it’ll only cost $20.
