A study by EEDAR claims that Xbox 360 owners buy more digital content than other console users, although digital sales on consoles have risen overall.
According to the research firm, 55% of 360 users have bought at least one piece of digital content, compared to 43% last year. The PS3 wasn’t far behind, with 50% of users buying DLC, and the Wii has a surprisingly significant portion of digital customers, with 43% spending at least a handful of Nintendo Moon Bucks.
EEDAR said that digital game prices are “slowly increasing.” The average cost of a downloadable game last year as $10, and it’s expected that such ethereal titles will generate around 26% of all console-based revenue by 2014.
