City Connection continues in its efforts to pump out classic Psikyo shmups for the PC platform. Having only just released Strikers 1945 II on May 29, the publisher has announced that its 1999 sequel Strikers 1945 III, will be taking off on Steam June 30.

Known by the alternate title Strikers 1999, Strikers 1945 III is the third and final mainline entry in the time-bending franchise, and features yet more fast-and-furious action as one or two players choose one of six powerful aircraft and blast their way through swarms of enemies. Strikers 1945 III debuted new mechanics such as the “Technical Bonus,” which rewards players who dare to get up-close-and-personal with the enemy, and the “Chain Bonus,” offering multipliers for near-constant strings of kills.

As with previous City Connection releases, Strikers 1945 III will include both English and Japanese language support, key configuration, original dip switch settings, and a selection of screen filter and orientation options. The next release in the series is the marvelous Gunbird 2, which will be available to purchase on Steam June 10.

Strikers 1945 III launches June 30 on PC, priced at around $10. Psikyo Shooting Stars Alpha and Bravo are available now on Nintendo Switch.
