Streets of Rage 3D game footage leaked

This should not have been canceled

Footage of a shelved Streets of Rage sequel/remake/reboot/thing has appeared on online. Featuring a 3D play space and some very nice graphics, the project was being developed by Ruffian Games before SEGA presumably pulled the plug.

Ruffian developer Sean Noonan confirmed the validity of the video via Twitter, acknowledging Streets of Rage as one of his previous projects and stating it looks, “as pretty as ever.”

Now, I consider myself a big Streets of Rage fan, and I have to say I really like the look of this footage. The 3D perspective might put some people off, but it appears to retain so much from the original game that it doesn’t matter to me at all. I love how this looks.

Unfortunately, the project is in the trash can right now, and I feel that’s a real loss. Seems like it was going place. Would you have been all up in this, had it been released?
