Street Fighter’s Sakura coming to kick ass in Monster Hunter: World

This May, players will be able to take Street Fighter’s schoolgirl extraordinaire (and part-time arcade worker) Sakura Kasugano into battle with the terrifying behemoths of Capcom’s blockbuster adventure, Monster Hunter: World.

From May 4, the three-part, seven-star difficulty “Empress in Full Bloom” challenge will appear in the arena, open to hunters of Level 12 and over. Players have only until May 10 to complete the challenge (which mainly consists of defeating Pink Rathians) in order to unlock the Sakura armour set, giving your hunter the appearance and voice of the awesome lass-kicker.

Sakura isn’t the first Street Fighter alumni to make her presence felt in Monster Hunter: World. Previous armour sets have been available to turn characters into poster-boy Ryu, and the Strongest Woman in the World, Chun-Li. Devil May Cry’s Dante also got in on the action, and another recent quest enabled players to switch their Palico sidekick out for an 8-bit Mega-Man! Here’s hoping these fun crossovers continue.

Monster Hunter: World is available now on PS4 and Xbox One. A PC release is planned for the Fall.
