If you hadn’t told me that this was a trailer for Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, I’d have had no idea that it was, in fact, a trailer for Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. Yes, it’s another videogame movie tie-in that just looks like any other action flick.
There’s a flash of Vega, but otherwise, this Japanese trailer doesn’t really excite. The sad thing with this film is that I don’t even think it will be enjoyable on an ironic level, like the first live-action Street Fighter movie was. This one takes itself too seriously and doesn’t have Raul Julia in it. How can it hope to compare favorably?
