The adorable cat adventureĀ is setting out very soon. The sci-fi action-adventureĀ Stray from BlueTwelve Studio will launch for PC, PlayStation 4 and PS5 on July 19, 2022.

Seen in today’s Sony State of Play, the little cat adventure has been popping up here and there in various PlayStation streams. We had confirmation of a summer window for it, but now it seems the lil’ guy is setting out very soon.

Alongside news of its release, Annapurna Interactive also confirmedĀ StrayĀ will be available for free for PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers. That’s a freebie for anyone who signs on to Sony’s freshly launched higher tiers of PlayStation Plus.

Sci-fiĀ StrayĀ adventures on the PS5

It’s a welcome surprise for those who signed up for the service, I suppose.Ā StrayĀ has been an eye-catcher at most of these streams.

It really takes the concept of stray cat in a sci-fi future and runs with it, leaning into doing all kinds of cat stuff. From hiding in little boxes, to running along ledges, to even the way theĀ StrayĀ cat leaps, it’s all frankly adorable.

According to the store page,Ā StrayĀ follows a lost and lonely cat separated from its family, trying to escape a forgotten city. It’s filled with all kinds of futuristic drones and cyber-denizens, though they seem nonplussed about the cat’s presence. That means sneaking, dodging, and solving mysteries. Plus, befriending an adorable drone pal called B12. Because one cute mascot was clearly not enough for Stray.

And in case you don’t have the new next-gen console yet,Ā StrayĀ is confirmed as coming to both generations, PS4 and PS5, as well as PC. Pre-orders are already live over on the Steam page, where it’s going for a pre-launch discount of $26.99 (down from $29.99).

We’ll hopefully see this adorable cat through trials and tribulations and back to its family soon.Ā StrayĀ launches for PC, PS4, and PS5 on July 19, 2022.
