Stranglehold really coming out for the PS3, finally goes gold

It seems like forever ago that Xbox 360 owners had their first taste of the random white dove action in Midway’s Stranglehold. But for PlayStation 3 owners, the wait is almost over — Midway has announced that the game has gone gold.

It really exists folks. I’ve played it, and it’s just like the Xbox 360 version, which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on who you talk to. I had a great time shooting dudes in the crotch, and smashing everything from watermelons to dinosaur bones, but not everyone agrees with me. If anything, the PS3 collector’s edition of Stranglehold will come with an HD version of John Woo’s classic, Hard Boiled, which to some might be worth the price of admission alone.

For those that can’t wait for the game’s projected October 30 release (according to Gamestop), a demo has been available on the PlayStation Network for awhile. So go shoot the crap out of stuff in slow motion, eh?
