Imaginative new puzzle game Storyteller lets you craft your own narrative

To game, or not to game?

There are always fun new ways to mesh interactivity and narrative in games, and the upcoming adventure game Storyteller from publisher Annapurna and developer Daniel Benmergui looks like an innovative new twist on video game stories.

In the new trailer we saw from the Annapurna Interactive Showcase, the game lives up to its name, because it puts the player in the shoes of a playwright. Don’t worry, you don’t have to actually write words, but instead use pieces of plot and character to craft a story that works. Paired with an adorable art style that nods to Shakespearean inspirations, Storyteller looks like it will be a simple experience, but a highly effective one.

Storyteller does not yet have a release date, but will be coming to Nintendo Switch and PC. A playable demo is currently available on Steam.
