One of the few criticisms people had of Portal 2‘s E3 demo was that Wheatley, the English-accented Personality Sphere, sounded pretty damn dreadful. Well, Valve is a company that listens, and has revealed that Office co-writer and podcast legend Stephen Merchant will be taking over the role!
This is pretty fabulous news. I’m a big fan of Stephen Merchant as is anybody who likes funny men who are really tall. His voice and comedic timing will be a perfect fit for Portal 2, methinks, so this is a very, very good thing. Now GLaDOS is going to have some serious competition when it comes to quotability.
