With more tournaments popping up all over the world and more teams jumping at the chance to play their favorite games for a paycheck, it’s pretty clear that competitive gaming isn’t going anywhere.

Peripheral manufacturer SteelSeries seems to agree stating after their stable of teams brought home a winnings in excess of $2 million last year. This is, according to SteelSeries CMO Kim Rom, “a hockey stick growth curve that attests to the rapid growth we’re seeing at a global level.”

With what they believe to be some of the best teams in gaming under their umbrella, SteelSeries is pretty psyched for 2012.
