Steam Trading Cards are leaving beta this week

Ahead of a Steam event of some kind

I’ve yet to figure out this whole Steam Trading Cards thing, and the fact that the virtual cards are in beta hasn’t helped matters. That’ll be resolved soon enough — Valve plans to open up Trading Cards to all Steam users on Wednesday, June 26 at 11:00am Pacific. How very specific.

The company has also shifted features like the Card Binder and Trade Offers to post-release status, though an exact time frame hasn’t been pinned down yet. “For now until release we’re going to focus on fixing up all the existing bugs and issues,” writes Valve.

“Who Cares?” you might be typing into the comments section. Prepare to hammer on that backspace key, friend: “Making trading cards available to all Steam users is a step towards an event we think everyone can be excited about…” Summer sale? No. Please, no. I’m broke!
