If you don’t own The Orange Box by now, why not? This weekend’s Steam deal is 66% off the normal $29.99 asking price, so you really have no excuse for not owning the collection of damn fine Valve games.
Half-Life 2, Episode One, Episode 2, Lost Coast, Portal, and Team Fortress 2 … for $10. Crazy, isn’t it? I’m extremely curious to see what kind of effect this is going to have on sales, because I am a huge nerd, obviously. But beyond that, it could mean good things for the future.
Maybe we’ll be lucky enough to have Valve divulge how big of a boost in sales The Orange Box will have received from this sale, but I’m not counting on it. Something tells me the company might use the data to push the idea of massive price reductions for absurd profits on other publishers, which would be fantastic for us consumers.
