Steam Capitalism and Economy Fest kicks off today

Let money guide you.

More than 14,000 titles were released on Steam in 2023. To say that it’s the top dog of the digital PC gaming world would be wholly accurate. Part of the reason it remains as popular as ever is all the sale events that occur, and the first one of this year is going live soon.

The Steam Capitalism and Economy Fest officially kicks off later on today. If you head to the website now, you can see what’s likely to be featured. Everything from Brewpub Simulator to Cities Skylines to Planet Zoo is going to be part of the event.

The above trailer shows what else you can expect, whether you want discounts on Monopoly, Railway Empire, or Cartel Tycoon. Basically, if it’s a game that’s about earning or managing money, then it’s probably going to be in this fest.

Become the capitalist you always dreamed of being!

If you’re into all that – making big bucks or taking part in simulated industries – then this Steam event will likely appeal to you.

Personally, it’s a genre I’ve never been too good at. From my early days of playing PC games when I could barely make ends meet in SimCity or Theme Hospital, I’ve never been particularly amazing at becoming a financial success in economy-style games. A bit like real life, now that I think about it. Sigh.

Anyway, the Steam Economy and Capitalist Fest starts at 10AM PT and goes on until next Monday. What better way to kick-start 2024 than by becoming a wealthy industrialist after, possibly, an expensive Christmas period?
