[Update: Starr Mazer is in its final 24 hours on Kickstarter and the development team is going out with bang, hosting a 24-hour live stream packed with pogs, pizza, games, announcements and other forms of entertainment. One of those announcements is that Starr Mazer lead Brick M. Stonewood will encounter a gender-swapped version of himself at some point in the game. Is this the “crossover with itself” that we reported on earlier, an alternate reality type deal, or something else? Maybe tuning into that stream will lead to some answers.]

Our last post about Starr Mazer was a little on the negative side, focusing on how the game’s many crossovers might be a double-edged sword in regards to marketing. Maybe that idea was wrong-headed, as the game managed to hit its funding less than a day after that post went up.

With something like 40 hours left in the campaign, Starr Mazer is currently sitting at about $168K. That means it has $12K to go for “all-star musical guests,” $32K for PS4 and Xbox One ports, and $42K for a Wii U version. $42K is no small chunk of change, but if half the amiibo addicts out there decided to use a fraction of their amiibucks towards this actual, honest-to-God videogame, it would get there in no time. Fat chance, right?

Maybe this latest, and arguably greatest Starr Mazer crossover will be enough to get those amiibo lovers off their amiibutts and get focused on games again. In a move that could work to both reclaim its brand and galvanize fans of everything everywhere, Imagos Softworks has announced that Starr Mazer will be crossing over with the greatest game of all — itself.

This leaves us with many questions. Will Brick discover that he is his own worst enemy, or will he finally learn to love himself? Now that the game is fully funded, its only a matter of time before we find out.
